Job Description:

Director / Practice Lead – Land Development

(Sector Leader | $145,000–$165,000)

Position Summary

Seeking a Florida-licensed Professional Engineer to lead and grow its Land Development practice in Central Florida. This individual will operate with a high degree of autonomy and will be responsible for managing a team, overseeing a book of work, and serving as a senior client-facing leader without requiring daily oversight from firm principals.

The firm is fortunate to have work across all major development sectors. Current booming sectors include Retail, Theme Park development, and SpaceX-related projects, along with several large and noteworthy mixed-use developments that the firm is leading. The firm also continues strong work in multifamily, single-family, industrial, and other commercial sectors. Healthcare is a high-growth focus area, with leadership actively re-entering the sector — including an upcoming initiative supporting Adventist Health in rolling out small facilities statewide, representing the potential to keep a dedicated team fully loaded.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced PE ready to take ownership of project delivery, team performance, and client relationships within a multidisciplinary civil engineering, planning, surveying, and geospatial firm.

Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers
Oversee multiple residential, commercial, retail, mixed-use, industrial, and healthcare-related development projects

Direct permitting efforts in Central Florida (Orange, Osceola, City of Orlando, Kissimmee, etc.)
Coordinate with in-house planning, surveying, and geospatial teams
Contribute to project pursuits and strategic growth initiatives

Qualifications

Florida PE license (required)
12+ years of land development experience
Proven ability to independently run projects and supervise staff
Strong Central Florida permitting experience
Experience in residential (single-family, multi-family, townhomes), retail, mixed-use, or commercial development
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

What This Is
