Senior Power Mechanical Project Engineer

Power & Infrastructure 

Our client is seeking a Senior Power Mechanical Project Engineer to join its Power & Infrastructure team. This is an immediate opportunity for an experienced engineer to take a technical leadership role on complex power generation projects and contribute to industry-leading design solutions.

Position Overview

As a Senior Power Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design and execution of power generation projects up to 200MW, including both combined cycle and simple cycle plants.

You will play a critical role in ensuring technical excellence, design integrity, and successful project delivery, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the mechanical subject matter expert for power generation projects (25–200MW)

  • Lead design execution for combined cycle and simple cycle combustion turbine systems

  • Supervise and mentor engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance

  • Perform engineering calculations, system modeling, and code compliance analysis

  • Oversee design quality and peer review processes

  • Collaborate with leadership on RFP responses, proposals, and cost estimates

  • Support multidisciplinary coordination across electrical, civil, structural, and controls teams

  • Participate in construction-phase activities, including site visits, testing, and design coordination

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

  • 15+ years of experience in power generation engineering

  • Strong experience with IPP and utility-scale combustion turbine plants

  • Hands-on experience with GE, Siemens, and/or Solar turbines

  • Proven ability to deliver projects in a multi-disciplinary BIM environment

  • Deep expertise in:

    • Combustion turbines and internal combustion engines

    • Heat recovery systems, boilers, and balance-of-plant equipment

  • Working knowledge of codes and regulatory requirements (local, state, national)

  • Ability to coordinate across electrical, structural, civil, controls, and permitting disciplines

  • Experience supporting construction phases (site visits, factory testing, piping, shop drawings)

  • Pipe stress analysis experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit is a plus)

  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills
