Software Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite)

Role Overview

High-ownership backend engineering role focused on building core infrastructure for an AI-native platform. This role emphasizes autonomy, rapid production deployment, and full lifecycle ownership with expectation to define problems and build solutions independently.

Responsibilities

• Ship production code immediately and take full ownership of systems built
• Design and build core infrastructure including backend systems, databases, and architecture
• Develop systems leveraging PostgreSQL, vector databases, and scalable backend frameworks
• Create technical specifications and execute end-to-end builds without predefined requirements
• Scale systems to support rapid product growth and increasing complexity
• Operate in a high-intensity environment working directly with leadership
• Identify gaps in the system and proactively build solutions without direction
• Contribute to hiring and help shape engineering culture as the organization scales
• Transition into leadership responsibilities as the team grows

Requirements

• 2+ years of backend development experience or equivalent
• Strong Python skills with production-grade code shipping experience
• Experience with PostgreSQL, vector databases, and system design ownership
• Cloud experience including AWS or GCP, REST or GraphQL, and Docker
• High agency with ability to operate independently and drive outcomes
• Strong problem-solving ability with proven independent execution
